Friday 17th April

Workshop – Stick Weaving with Rachel
Have you ever heard of stick weaving before? It's a simple craft where yarn is woven around special sticks, and as you work the woven piece is gently pulled down over the cords threaded through the bottom of the sticks, gradually creating a strip of fabric. It's an ancient technique but our workshop will make a modern style woven bookmark.

Workshop – Syringe Driver Bags with Nicky
Join the ‘production line’ tonight to help make as many syringe driver bags as possible for those receiving palliative care at the RUH. Syringe drivers are used most frequently for pain management, particularly cancer care, to administer painkillers or other medication. Having a bag to place this in helps make life easier for patients and nurses by making moving around easier and safer. The gift of a bag can also bring a touch of joy to those patients who receive them at what can be a very challenging time. This is a chance to support those in need as well as to become familiar with making a basic bag pattern and using a sewing machine. Learn as you go! All levels of experience welcome.
